On the last day of International Women's Month, let's not forget that we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. Let's support girls at all points throughout their educational journey, equipping them to use Computer Science, Robotics, and Design to impact the community and succeed. Collectively, we can all close the gender gap and build the next generation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)! #girlswhocode #shecodes #CodeLikeAGirl #girlrobotmakers #InternationalWomensMonth #ChooseToChallenge #CourageToCreate #socialimpact #leanin #codelinkd
As we celebrate Black History Month, we acknowledge that people of color are being largely underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Though people of color are expected to become the majority of the U.S. population in the next 30 years, they account for less than 30% of American STEM workers today. There is a need for more representation of people of color in technology. There is a need to change the face of Computer Science. We need to provide students of color more opportunity and inspiration to learn and take part in defining the future of technology and our society.

The third Monday of January is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an Americal federal holiday, to remember and honor the life of the great civil rights activist, remembered for protesting racial discrimination, and for powerful speeches. Your kid can learn about Dr. King's contributions, to this country, by coding an interactive timeline of his life. https://www.tynker.com/blog/articles/ideas-and-tips/programming-projects-for-kids/a-coding-project-to-honor-mlk-day/ #martinlutherkingjr #tynker #codelinkd

We - the parents, teachers, relatives, elders and as such every adult in the entire world, have an obligation to our children. Just as our past is our guide to the present, so is our present a guide for our young ones’ future. As Ralph Abernathy, once said - “I don’t know what the future may hold, but I know who holds our future”. I would attribute the same to our children, because that is an undeniable truth.⠀
⠀
This year, the pandemic has resulted in creating a crisis, to our economy, our health, our livelihoods, our children’s education, and in general to human and child rights. According to the UN, the cost of the pandemic for children are immediate and, if unaddressed, may last a lifetime.⠀
⠀
One thing the pandemic revealed is that it doesn’t see any differences. When pitted against such an unforgiving force of nature, all our differences amount to nothing. So let’s all of us come together, brush aside our differences, and reimagine, and start rebuilding the world, a better one for our children.⠀

STEAM concepts are in itself inherently so important. The basic foundations of which we start building during the elementary years. Middle School should cater to building upon these concepts tying it in the curriculum as the kids grow & progress. #codelinkd #legolearning #Coding #steam #Robotics #lego https://buff.ly/30pdOuo
Coding is an essential life skill. We want kids to explore careers in different fields where their hearts lie, be it medicine, automotive manufacturing, finance or arts & design - and be well-equipped to do so. ⠀

The key to helping kids learn problem-solving is a computer science class. Such a great article by @techagekids: "How Minecraft Teaches Computational Thinking"
⠀
What we don't realize is that games are high-octane learning machines that excite kids by driving their curiosity to discover something new, make them feel accomplished when they overcome a difficult challenge or reach a personal objective. They encourage them to experiment, develop strategies, and learn new skills!⠀
